A few years ago I had a very lucid dream about a mortal peril
coming to a man and a city.
The dream influenced me so profoundly that I created the image
you see before you.
The dream was about a man, a remarkable man who was visiting New
York City. I saw him standing in his hotel room where he was talking
on the phone to someone in Jerusalem. He yelled into the phone,
"This is Teddy Kollek,... I should have listened." He turned to look out his window in disbelief with the phone
still to his ear. He realized his end had come as he watched an
atomic bomb begin to consume New York City and himself. In those
brief seconds I knew he had been warned by someone to stay away
from New York.... to stay home in Israel.
Now, as I reflect on that dream which I later sent to this man,
I wonder if the dream was a premonition of an even worse terrorist
act yet to befall New York City. In 1939 Teddy Kollek met with
Adolf Eichmann and persuaded him to let Jews emigrate from Germany.
Later Mr. Kollek gathered arms for the Haganah (Israel's underground
army). He is formerly the mayor of Jerusalem. He is a frequent
visitor to New York City where he has a son who is a movie producer.
Is Teddy Kollek due back to New York soon? Time will tell.
