December 29, 2005

The next in a wave of Pacific storms will hit the Pacific Coast Thursday night and Friday, setting the stage for another round of heavy rain and snowfall. Many places across northern California and coastal Oregon have received substantial rainfall already this month, keeping the ground very saturated, and rivers will even spill out of their banks. This next storm will pack quite a punch with over 8.00 inches of additional rain possible across northern California and southern Oregon. In addition, snow will pile up across the mountains of the Sierra Nevada, as well as in the Washington and Oregon Cascades. Along the coastline, strong winds will gust to 50 mph, and waves can top 20 feet!
