GARDEN CITY, Idaho (AP) -- A starving bear cub that was discovered after a tornado roared through a remote area of central Idaho is making a steady recovery back to health at a sanctuary in Garden City.

Sally Maughan of Idaho Black Bear Rehab Incorporated says she believes the tiny cub was separated from its mother when a fierce twister tore up a 13-mile-long swath of timber in the Payette (PAY-ette) National Forest on June 4th.

Coincidentally, the tornado happened near the remote town of Bear, Idaho, population 14.

And the orphaned bear cub on the mend has been named -- appropriately enough -- "Twister."
