Another earthquake hit Southeastern Oklahoma last night. The earthquake measured 3.0 on the Richter scale and the USGS says that there is not a lot to worry about even though we just passed 50 earthquakes here in Oklahoma this last year.

The earthquake was measured 3.0 at 7:50 pm Central Time in the town of Tupelo, Oklahoma.

Now, that we don't have to worry, the USGS is installing 20 more seismometers throughout the state of Oklahoma. The cluster earthquakes have hit mostly in Central Oklahoma including the largest in Canadian County in central Oklahoma.

The largest earthquake ever recorded in Oklahoma was 5.5 in Canadian County in the town of El Reno, Oklahoma were I live. The mortar of the buildings hit by that earthquake are still crumbling and their is a large crack in the state capitol building.

The usual amount of earthquakes in Oklahoma is 3. Now we have had 50 but don't worry.

I have earthquake insurance because I'm not worried, but I'm not taking any chances. Now with the addition of 20 more seismometers, they can tell me all they want, not to worry, but I say better safe than sorry.
