Expected Earthquake, Volcanic or Storm Activity for the Next 1 to 5 Days
Are YOU Prepared?

Where do I start today... The forecast looks like a war zone...
NORTH EAST PACIFIC OCEAN: From Los Angeles to Portland is under stress again.
CENTRAL PACIFIC OCEAN: Hawaii is somewhat clear today but is showing some thermals from cloud activity.
EAST CENTRAL PACIFIC OCEAN: From Panama to Venezuela to the West Indies is showing a large thermal signal today.
SOUTH EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN: Ecuador, the Peru/Chile border region and the Chile/Argentina southern border region are all showing stress signals today.
SOUTH WEST PACIFIC OCEAN: New Zealand is showing both seismic and storm signals today. Even Australia gets a mention east of Victoria and Tasmania.
WEST PACIFIC OCEAN: East of the Marianas at Parece Vela Island and all the way to New Guinea showing a LOT of stress. Japan clear for today. However, the stress just south of Japan in the Marianas is growing and could move into Japan soon.
INDIAN OCEAN: In the region of the Carlsberg Ridge near Somalia there is a huge stress signal today. Madagascar again showing a strong stress signal. The warnings for Sumatra and Java in the last 4 days remain in force. The India/China border region near northern Myanmar is showing stress today as well.
MEDITERRANEAN OCEAN: Straits of Gibraltar are showing seismic potential as is the region of the Balkans and Northern Italy.
I have shown only today's stress signals in the raw data map to allow you to see more clearly what sort of thermal signals I saw today. The stress signals of the previous 4 days are on the main map.
Stan's analysis shows areas of possible earthquake or volcanic activity, or extreme storm conditions for the next 1 to 5 days. Pay particular attention to areas marked by white circles. The continuous yellow line denotes plate tectonic boundaries as well as the Ring of Fire. Go to the raw data map where it is easier to see the areas of concern. Go to Stan's earthquake map archives.
NEW FEATURE: The circles in varying shades of red are quake prediction zones Stan made from 1 to 4 days ago - with dark red being the oldest ones. White circles are Stan's prediction zones for today. Tomorrow these white circles will become light pink and will get darker as each day passes until they are removed.
DEYO NOTES: For earthquake maps, see the USGS "shake maps" (click anywhere on the global map for a closer view). For quakes USGS may not list, go to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center's map and scroll to the bottom of the page for a global view. You can compare these maps for the next 5 days to Stan's NCODA maps, to see the hits of his seismic target zones (white circles).
Earthquake lists can viewed at EMCS and at USGS.
Ecuador's Geophysics Institute at the National Polytechnic School, does not list quakes on a daily basis as does the USGS and other entities, but when there are significant events, they post them in PDFs.
Disclaimer: Some of the forecast stress areas can be in error up to 30% due to cloud cover variations and false signals from buoys.
